In Kyiv, the former Prime Minister of Ukraine and his PR assistant were convicted in absentia of high treason

With the support of the public prosecution by prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office in the case against the former Prime Minister of Ukraine and his assistant, the court found them guilty in absentia of treason, disseminating materials with public calls for violent change of the constitutional order in Ukraine, and calls to change the borders of the state of Ukraine.  

The assistant of the former Prime Minister, who lived in Kyiv and worked in the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration, along with another accomplice, prepared and published messages in the politician's Telegram channel with photographs of the consequences of missile strikes on Ukrainian cities, as well as his anti-Ukrainian statements.  

The accused also spread his interviews with Russian propaganda media, in which the politician justified and denied the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. In particular, he referred to the crimes of the Russians in Bucha as "a show" and stated that Ukrainians themselves provoked the "massacre in Bucha."  

By the decision of the Pechersk District Court, the former Prime Minister of Ukraine was found guilty of committing criminal offenses under Part 2 of Article 111, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 109, Part 2 of Article 110, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 436-2, and Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.  

The court sentenced his assistant in absentia to 10 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.  

The pre-trial investigation of the mentioned criminal proceedings was conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region.
