Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 28-year-old man has been notified of suspicion of completed attempted intentional murder, illegal handling of weapons, military supplies, or explosive substances, and aiding a state aggressor (Part 2 of Article 15, Part 2 of Article 115, Part 1 of Article 111-2, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It has been established that the suspect, a citizen of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, was recruited by the FSB while serving a sentence for robbery on the territory of the Russian Federation. The foreigner agreed to carry out criminal tasks to the detriment of Ukraine's security.
Following the enemy's instructions, the agent, posing as a tourist, arrived in Ukraine and initially stayed in Pervomaisk in the Mykolaiv region. There, he purchased several smartphones and SIM cards, which he regularly changed for covert communication with the FSB.
Subsequently, the suspect traveled to Kyiv, where he received from his handler a photo of a potential "target," approximate geolocations, and coordinates of a cache from which he retrieved a pistol with ammunition.
At the scene of the attempted murder, the detained individual was found in possession of a weapon with ammunition and a smartphone containing evidence of contacts with the FSB.
The suspect is in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
