Under the procedural supervision of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was launched into the intentional murder of the former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the current People's Deputy of Ukraine of the VI–IX convocations Andrii Parubiy (part 1 of Art. 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to preliminary data, on August 30 in Lviv, an unknown man fired several shots at a politician, as a result of which Andriy Parubiy died on the spot.

The attacker escaped, a special operation «Siren» was announced in the city.

The leadership of the Regional Prosecutor's Office and the National Police are working at the scene, forensic experts are involved.

The identification of the attacker and the circumstances of the crime are being established.

The pre-trial investigation is carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in the Lviv region. The head of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office has been appointed as the head of the group of prosecutors.
