The head of the Rivne regional prosecutor's office proved the guilt of two men in a sabotage committed by a group of individuals in conspiracy and under martial law (part 2 of article 28, part 2 of article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In early June 2024, the accused agreed to a proposal received via “Telegram” to set fire to a railway relay cabinet for money. They purchased gasoline and a construction crowbar, with which they broke the doors of the relay cabinet of the incoming traffic light and set it on fire from the inside.

The relay cabinet is important equipment responsible for the safety of train movement and has significant economic and defense importance.

The men were promptly detained, charged and taken into custody.

The court supported the prosecutor's position and found the men guilty. One of them was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while the other, who had previously been convicted of fraud and theft, received 15 years and 3 months of imprisonment. In addition, they are required to compensate the railway for over 400,000 UAH in damages.
