At the request of the prosecutors of the Office of the Prosecutor General within the framework of the criminal proceedings regarding official negligence that led to the death of people (part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), the court has chosen preventive measures for the suspected officials of the Odesa City Council and the subordinate municipal enterprise "City Roads":

• for the deputy mayor – round-the-clock house arrest with an electronic monitoring device;

• for the deputy mayor – night house arrest;

• for the head of the structural unit and the chief engineer of the structural unit of the municipal enterprise "City Roads" – night house arrest with an electronic monitoring device;

• for the director of the Department of Municipal Security, the chief engineer, and the director of the municipal enterprise "City Roads" – detention with an alternative bail of 1.5 million UAH;

• for the director of the Department of Urban Economy – detention with an alternative bail of 3 million UAH.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

We also inform you that a court hearing on the preventive measure for the former mayor of Odesa has currently been initiated at the request of the prosecution.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
