Prosecutors from specialized military prosecution offices in the Central region have uncovered corruption schemes in military units of the Chernihiv and Zhytomyr regions, related to the embezzlement of funds intended for additional payments to military personnel.

Chernihiv region. Indictments have been sent to court against the commander of a military unit and three of his subordinates. They organized a fictitious rear support point, where military personnel "on paper" performed duties, while in reality, they received illegal payments and repaired the commander's private property. The state suffered losses of over 2 million UAH.

Zhytomyr region. An official of a military unit has already been convicted for a similar crime. He organized illegal payments to military personnel who were not actually performing combat missions. The state incurred losses of over 600,000 UAH. Based on the prosecutor's arguments, the court sentenced him to 5 years of imprisonment and a fine. The case against other involved parties is ongoing.

Investigations in the mentioned criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 364, Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 366, Part 5 of Article 426-1, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 409 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine were conducted by the employees of the State Bureau of Investigations (DBR).

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
