In Vinnytsia, a man was exposed who organized the underground production of fake "Ukrposhta" stamps with losses to the state of UAH 5 million

In a year, a resident of Vinnytsia region produced over 1.6 million counterfeits, causing the state company losses of more than 5 million UAH. Under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, he has been notified of suspicion regarding the illegal production and sale of counterfeit postage stamps using the trademark of JSC "Ukrposhta" (part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, the suspect printed and sold counterfeit stamps without the permission of "Ukrposhta," using the name and brand of the state company.
To do this, he rented premises, purchased professional printing equipment, materials, and hired employees. In fact, it was an underground workshop that operated for almost a year.
During this time, over 1.6 million fake stamps were printed there. Among them are popular collectible series among Ukrainians, including "Russian warship, go …!" and "Pysanka." The amount of damage caused to JSC "Ukrposhta" exceeds 5 million UAH.
A significant amount of counterfeit products, printing equipment, and other evidence of illegal activity were seized during authorized searches.
The issue of applying a preventive measure against the suspect is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region in cooperation with the economic security service of JSC "Ukrposhta."
The sanction of the article provides for a fine of ten thousand to fifteen thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years or without such.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
