The head of the charity and its accomplice was detained in Vinnitsa - they traded cars imported under the guise of humanitarian aid

Under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a resident of Vinnytsia and the head of a charitable organization have been notified of suspicion for organizing the importation of cars under the guise of humanitarian aid for the needs of the army with zero customs duties and selling them since February 2025.
The suspects are charged under Part 3 of Article 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - illegal use of humanitarian aid for profit during martial law.
According to the investigation, the list of vehicles illegally put up for sale included a KIA SORENTO, three MERCEDES-BENZ ML 270 cars, a SSANG YONG REXTON, and a VOLKSWAGEN T5. The suspects received 28 thousand US dollars for the sale of the cars.
The suspects were detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after receiving the funds and transferring the documents for the vehicles. They have been placed in custody with the possibility of posting bail.
Currently, measures are being taken to identify and hold accountable individuals who may be involved in the established "scheme."
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region. Operational support is provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Vinnytsia region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established.
