Prosecutors of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment to the court on October 21, 2025, against a resident of Zaporizhzhia who transmitted information to the enemy about objects of strategic importance for the defense capability and energy system of Ukraine on the grounds of state treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the man voluntarily contacted representatives of the special services of the aggressor state via the messenger "Telegram" and offered his assistance in conducting subversive activities against Ukraine.

In accordance with the tasks of his curator, he sent coordinates from "Google Maps" with explanations regarding the locations of territorial recruitment and social support centers, as well as collection points for reservists and military personnel in Zaporizhzhia. He also reported separately on the activity at these sites at different times of the day and changes in their locations. The information obtained was planned to be used by the occupiers to carry out missile and bombing strikes.

In addition, the suspect recorded data about energy facilities in Zaporizhzhia. Later, after getting a job at an energy company in Dnipro, he continued to collect similar information there.

The accused has been placed in custody without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
