Under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a criminal group has been uncovered and detained, which organized the production and sale of psychotropic substances and narcotic drugs in particularly large quantities.

According to the investigation, four individuals – three men and a woman – cultivated over 5,700 cannabis plants in the state-protected area "Zgharsky" in the Vinnytsia district. There, they harvested the crop and also set up a laboratory for the production of amphetamine.

During authorized searches at the suspects' residences and on the land plots they used, the following were seized: 120 kg of cannabis in ready form; over 5,700 cannabis plants; amphetamine and precursors; laboratory equipment; cash; vehicles, phones, and bank cards.

The estimated value of the seized narcotic substances on the "black market" is about 5 million UAH.

The members of the criminal group have been notified of suspicion under Part 2, Part 3 of Article 307, and Part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal production, storage, and sale of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, as well as illegal sowing and cultivation of cannabis).

The court has chosen a preventive measure for the suspects – detention without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support were carried out by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Vinnytsia region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
