Disposal of hazardous waste with losses for the environment for more than 3.2 million UAH. Prosecutors of the Nikolaev area reported suspicion of an organized group

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office, a director, an accountant, and a driver of one of the companies in Mykolaiv have been notified of suspicion for committing a number of criminal offenses in the field of environmental safety.

The director of the company organized a scheme for the transportation, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste. He involved his subordinates — the accountant and the driver of the company.

Lacking a license, the director instructed the accountant to prepare and submit the relevant documents to the electronic public procurement system Prozorro. The company entered into 26 contracts with municipal and state institutions in the region, including healthcare facilities, for a total amount of nearly 800 thousand UAH.

The waste obtained under the concluded contracts was transported and placed by the company's driver on a land plot that was unlawfully occupied and not designated for this purpose.

According to the conclusions of the forensic engineering and environmental examination, the environment suffered damages amounting to over 3.2 million UAH.

The suspects are charged under Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 239, Part 2 of Article 197-1, and Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Mykolaiv Oblast.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
