The verdict of a collaborator who headed one of the courts during the occupation of Kherson Oblast was passed

With the support of the public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a former judge from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has been found guilty of collaborationist activities (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). He has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property and deprivation of the right to hold positions in government bodies, local self-government, judicial, and law enforcement agencies.

It has been proven that during the temporary occupation of the city, the convicted individual voluntarily agreed to head the illegally created "Kherson Regional Court." He made decisions in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation, effectively ensuring the functioning of the occupying "judicial" system and facilitating the legalization of the invaders' decisions.

The verdict has been rendered in absentia. The serving of the sentence will begin after the convicted individual is apprehended.

A special pre-trial investigation in the case was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kherson region.
