In Odesa, a man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for organizing an intentional murder

Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office supported the public prosecution in court in the case of the attempted murder of two people.

During the court proceedings, the 45-year-old defendant admitted his guilt under the weight of the evidence.

The man was found guilty of organizing a contract murder, illegal handling of ammunition, and aiding in the forgery of a document. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison with the confiscation of all property for the benefit of the state.

Prosecutors fully proved in court that the man agreed to organize the murder of a well-known public figure, the head of a civic formation in Odesa, for money. The amount of the "reward" was 100,000 US dollars. The organizer was to keep part of the money for himself and pass the rest to the executors of the murder.

In the process of preparation, he sought out a perpetrator for the crime and provided him with information about the victim, his lifestyle, place of residence, and transportation movements, as well as suggested finding a hitman.

Later, the organizer offered the man to carry out another murder order for another public figure for 80,000 US dollars, transferring funds for the preparation of the crime.

Thanks to the joint efforts of prosecutors, Security Service employees, and police, the crime was prevented.

Law enforcement staged the murder, sending photos and videos of the "finished work" to the customer, and disseminated information about the "murder" in the media.

The organizer of the crime was detained after providing "evidence" of the execution of the order. During a search, a combat F-1 grenade with a fuse and a forged passport of a citizen of Ukraine were seized from him.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Investigative Department of the National Police in the Odesa region (Part 3 of Article 15, Part 3 of Article 27, paragraphs 6, 11 of Part 2 of Article 115; Part 2 of Article 15, Part 3 of Article 27, paragraphs 6, 11 of Part 2 of Article 115; Part 1 of Article 263; Part 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Operational support was provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
