15.08.2025
Prosecutors of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office supported the public prosecution in a case, as a result of which a 55-year-old resident of Odesa was found guilty of participating in a terrorist organization (part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The man was sentenced in absentia to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of all property.
The prosecutor in court fully proved that this resident of Odesa left for temporarily occupied Donetsk at the beginning of 2015. There, he voluntarily joined the armed formation of the terrorist organization "DNR," the so-called "1st Army Corps of the People's Militia." He held the position of a shooter under the call sign "Morphe."
From 2015 to 2018, the militant carried out reconnaissance and sabotage tasks, gathered information, conducted counterintelligence activities, and participated in combat operations against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The man was also part of the power block of the so-called "Committee for the Liberation of Odesa" and another paramilitary group.
In addition to combat actions against the Ukrainian state, he spread the ideology of terrorism through social networks, justified the actions of the illegal authorities of the "DNR." He publicly spoke against Ukrainian statehood, supported and promoted pro-Russian ideas, trying to discredit Ukraine and its people.
Currently, the convicted individual is located in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region. The term of punishment will be calculated from the date of his detention and the actual execution of the punishment.
The special pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
