The Supreme Court, as part of the Cassation Economic Court, rejected the cassation appeal of the respondent and upheld the court decisions to recover 4 million 971 thousand UAH in favor of the state.

Prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Prosecutor's Office established and proved that one of the municipal enterprises in the city of Kalush was extracting groundwater without a special permit for the use of subsoil, causing damage.

Prosecutors, acting in the interests of the state on behalf of the State Environmental Inspection of the Carpathian Region, filed a lawsuit in court for the recovery of damages caused to the environment.

Courts of all instances confirmed the validity of the prosecutor's claims. The decision is final and not subject to appeal.
