Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Kropyvnytskyi Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the defense sector of the Southern region, residents of Kirovohrad region have been notified of suspicion of fraud that caused damage to the state. 

According to the investigation, a woman, knowing about her husband's unauthorized departure from the military unit and his return to their place of residence, submitted a statement to declare him missing and to appoint payments of financial support. 

In this way, she illegally received over 847 thousand UAH of budget funds, which she used for her own needs.

Her actions have been qualified under part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a motion is being prepared for the court to choose a preventive measure.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in Kirovohrad region, with operational support from the Main Department of the National Police in Kirovohrad region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
