Manufactured and sold counterfeit products of low quality under the guise of Nestle, Mivin and Jacobs. Five persons were notified of the suspicion (specified)

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, a network for the production and sale of counterfeit food products has been uncovered, which were sold under the guise of products from well-known Ukrainian and international brands. Five members of the criminal group have been notified of suspicion for the illegal use of a trademark (part 3 of Article 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, over the past few years, production of goods from low-quality raw materials has been established in the territories of Kyiv, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions. These products were packaged in containers that closely resembled the original products of well-known brands. Subsequently, these goods were supplied to stores and sold online as genuine.

During searches in one of the warehouses, more than 15,000 packages of spices and other products with counterfeit labeling were seized. Equipment for packaging and documentation indicating the organized nature of the production and the existence of established sales channels were also discovered.

The investigation is ongoing. It is being conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police with operational support from the State Bureau of Investigation.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
