A group of 11 people who were engaged in smuggling of elite watches from Hong Kong, China and UAE

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, 11 members of an organized group have been notified of suspicion for the facts of smuggling goods (Part 3 of Article 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation has established that from July 2024 to June 2025, an organized group of individuals, which included train conductors of international routes, systematically transported elite watches of the brands "Audemars Piguet" and "Rolex," purchased in Hong Kong, China, and the UAE, across the customs border of Ukraine.

The goods were concealed in the compartments of the train cars and were imported without customs control for the purpose of further sale in Ukraine through a closed-type store in Kyiv.

During the conducted searches, documents, mobile phones, and the actual smuggled items were seized, confirming the group's involvement in committing criminal offenses.

The total value of the discovered smuggling exceeds 11 million UAH.

The court has chosen a preventive measure: for the organizer – detention with an alternative bail of 9 million UAH, for two accomplices – detention with an alternative bail of 908 thousand UAH each, and for others – round-the-clock house arrest, night house arrest, and personal obligation.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by detectives of the Bureau of Economic Security with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine.
