The head of the company, who took over more than 6 million UAH during the repair of damaged shelling of the high -rise building in Zaporozhye, was exposed

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, the general director of one of the Kyiv companies has been exposed for embezzling budget funds in particularly large amounts.

According to the investigation, in October 2023, a contract was signed between the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Zaporizhzhia region and the company for the capital repair of a residential building in Zaporizhzhia, which was damaged as a result of shelling on March 22, 2023.

After signing the contract, the contractor received an advance of over 20 million UAH and began work, the scope of which was not completed within the deadlines specified in the calendar schedule.

In fact, dismantling work worth over 13 million UAH was carried out, as confirmed by the acts of completed work. It was established that more than 6 million UAH was transferred by the general director to the accounts of commercial entities shortly after the advance was received. Subsequently, these funds were used for business activities unrelated to the capital repair of the damaged building.

After the deadline for returning the unused part of the advance funds expired, the official sent letters requesting an extension. Despite this, the restoration work was never completed, and over 6 million UAH of budget funds remained unreturned.

Currently, the general director has been notified of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (embezzlement of someone else's property in particularly large amounts). The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region with operational support from the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption of the National Police of Ukraine.
