Under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a citizen has been notified of suspicion for providing an unlawful benefit to a public official (Part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the suspect intended to give the head of a department at one of the medical institutions in Kyiv 24,000 US dollars for the preparation of a package of medical documents that would allow him to be removed from military registration. The medical worker reported this fact to law enforcement.

The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine immediately after the transfer of funds.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in the Kyiv region with operational support from the State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
