Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, a local resident has been exposed for systematically disseminating materials that justify and deny the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as calls to change the borders of Ukraine, using popular pro-Russian Telegram channels.
According to the investigation, with the onset of the full-scale invasion, the man, being pro-Russian, intensified his propaganda activities on social media.
He regularly left comments in pro-Russian chats that contained signs of public justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. In his posts, the suspect expressed expectations for the "liberation" of Zaporizhzhia, called for the destruction of Ukrainian identity, justified the occupation of Zaporizhzhia and other regions "included" in the constitution of the Russian Federation, and openly supported the actions of Russian politicians against Ukraine.
During his arrest, he attempted to hide from operatives under the bed in his own house and conceal his mobile phone in a home printer.
He has currently been informed of suspicion for disseminating materials with calls to change the borders of Ukraine (Part 1, Part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), as well as for spreading materials that justify and recognize the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine as lawful (Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
By court decision, the suspect is in custody.
The measures to expose him were carried out by the regional prosecutor's office in cooperation with employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
