Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, a suspect has been reported for the organizer and accomplice of an illegal scheme to seize land in the territory of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine in Pyrohiv.
This concerns the head and an employee of a private company who developed and implemented a plan for the unlawful acquisition of a land plot of 1.5 hectares, which is state-owned and is in permanent use by the museum.
To do this, the head of the company forged technical passports, certificates, and acceptance-transfer acts, and on their basis registered ownership rights to real estate objects with a total area of over 8,000 square meters. After that, he held a meeting of the company participants, included fictitious objects in the authorized capital, and attempted to formalize land management documentation.
They did not manage to carry out their plan to the end – the illegal actions were uncovered by law enforcement in cooperation with the museum's management - a seizure was imposed on the land, and the state did not incur losses of over 10 million UAH.
The actions of the suspects have been qualified under part 3 of Article 15 and part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for them is being resolved.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigative Department of the National Police of Ukraine with operational support from the UCR in Kyiv of the NPU.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
