Seized cars from enterprises allegedly for the needs of the Armed Forces: a former official of the TCC was exposed

According to the investigation, in March 2022, the commandant of one of the TCCs and SPs in the Kyiv region forcibly seized 8 vehicles from two local companies allegedly for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He had no legal grounds for this, and the representatives of the companies did not receive any confirming documents.

To conceal the crime, the suspect created fictitious acceptance-transfer acts of the vehicles to military units. However, the cars never reached the army — the official disposed of them at his own discretion.

The Kyiv Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Central region, together with the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in Kyiv, has informed him of the suspicion under Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power by a military official that caused serious consequences, committed under martial law).

The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.

The sanction of the incriminated article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
