Prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, together with police investigators under the operational support of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police of Ukraine in the Kyiv region, uncovered the acting head of the "Kyiv Breeding Center" of the state enterprise "Horse Breeding of Ukraine".

According to the investigation, the official demanded and received an unlawful benefit (80 thousand hryvnias) from an entrepreneur for renting premises of the state enterprise without signing an official contract.

During an urgent search, law enforcement officers seized 28 thousand hryvnias — part of the unlawful benefit. The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was notified of suspicion under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving an unlawful benefit by a public official).

Currently, prosecutors are preparing a motion to the court for the selection of a preventive measure in the form of detention for the suspect. Priority investigative actions are ongoing in the criminal proceedings.

The sanction for the incriminated article provides for imprisonment for up to 10 years with confiscation of property and a ban on holding certain positions.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in the manner prescribed by law and confirmed by a guilty verdict of the court.
