Demanding "kickbacks" by officials: solving the problem through the StopTysk portal

The Attorney General Ruslan Kravchenko emphasized the importance of using official communication channels to combat corruption by officials on his Facebook page. Despite high-profile cases of pressure on businesses during tender procurements discussed on social media, the legal mechanism for protection is activated through appeals to the Office of the Attorney General. For the efficiency and convenience of communication, the Office of the Attorney General has launched a specialized platform "StopPressure" (https://stoptysk.gp.gov.ua).

Ruslan Kravchenko stressed that the "StopPressure" portal is a direct tool for stopping instances of extortion of illegal benefits by officials.

“There is one click between comments on social media and real problem-solving. Each appeal through the "StopPressure" portal is considered as quickly as possible and is under my personal control. This is not a declaration; it is a practice that allows us to move the problem from discussions on social media into the realm of legal solutions,” noted the Attorney General.

At the same time, he pointed out that in the five months of the portal's operation, not a single appeal regarding violations by officials has been received.

An analysis of the portal's work over five months demonstrated the following indicators:

— A total of 176 reports of possible unlawful interference in economic activities were received. All appeals concern the actions of law enforcement agencies.

— Currently, there are no reports of bribery or pressure from officials, particularly in the area of tender procurements.

The Attorney General emphasized that publicity in the media space is important, but only an official report of a crime triggers the state mechanism for protecting entrepreneurs.

The functionality of the platform allows for a clear distinction between complaints about pressure from law enforcement and abuses by officials. This ensures the prompt processing of information about:

— extortion of illegal benefits;

— artificial delays in procedures;

— procedural abuses.

Using the "StopPressure" portal allows entrepreneurs to achieve specific results within the legal framework, ensuring a quick response from the prosecutor's office to any manifestations of corrupt pressure.

Recall that on Friday, February 6, law enforcement uncovered a corruption scheme organized by the head of the capital's municipal enterprise - KNP "Educational Agency of the City of Kyiv." The agency's director demanded a "kickback" from a private enterprise for the implementation of a won state tender.
