Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Southern Region, a leading specialist from the Odesa RTC and SP has been detained for receiving illegal benefits.

According to the investigation, the suspect demanded 25,000 hryvnias in illegal benefits from a conscript. For this money, he promised to influence the officials of the TCC regarding the removal of the man from the wanted list, recognition as unfit for service due to health reasons, and subsequently his exclusion from military registration. 

The transfer of funds took place in three stages. After receiving the last tranche of 12,000 hryvnias, the official was detained. 

With the prosecutor's consent, he was informed of the suspicion under part 3 of Article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The suspect was chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 211,960 UAH.

Currently, all circumstances of the case and the full circle of involved persons are being established.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, with operational support from the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
