Prosecutors of the Office of the Attorney General confirmed in the Supreme Court the sentence of a resident of the Donetsk region, convicted for participation in a terrorist organization, committing a terrorist act, and illegal handling of explosive devices (Part 1 of Article 258-3, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 263, Part 3 of Article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He was sentenced to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

Prosecutors in courts of all instances proved that in March 2017, the man agreed to cooperate with representatives of the terrorist organization "DNR". He handed over a package containing components of a homemade explosive device to an accomplice - already convicted in another proceeding. This explosive device was used by her on March 31, 2017, to kill a colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The Cassation Criminal Court as part of the Supreme Court agreed with the prosecutor's arguments regarding the validity of the qualification of the convicted person's actions and the appropriateness of the imposed punishment for the committed acts.

Currently, the man is serving the sentence imposed by the court. The convicted person did not admit his guilt.
