According to the investigation, on the night of September 16, 2025, Russian troops struck the civilian infrastructure of Zaporizhzhia and its suburbs. The enemy used multiple launch rocket systems of various types, including those with cluster munitions.

As a result of the shelling, one man was killed, and 18 people were injured, including two children aged 4 and 17.

The strikes targeted private sector households, near apartment buildings, as well as the territories of an educational institution, a business, a car service station, parking lots, and other infrastructure facilities.

Information regarding the victims is being clarified.

Under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor's Office, an investigation has been initiated in a criminal proceeding regarding the commission of a war crime that resulted in a person's death (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region.
