On September 3, 2025, between 10:30 and 11:50, Russian troops shelled Kostiantynivka with artillery. The target for the occupiers was a residential neighborhood. As a result of the enemy attacks, three women aged 46, 72, and 74, and five men were killed. Additionally, six residents sustained injuries. They were taken to the hospital. The victims were at their place of residence, on the street, and in a store.

In the settlement, private and multi-apartment buildings, the facade of a store, and trade pavilions were damaged.

The final consequences are being established.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated in a criminal proceeding regarding the commission of a war crime (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Prosecutors are taking all possible and appropriate measures to document the consequences of the shelling of the civilian population.
