All the military crimes of Russia will be investigated

July 14 is a tragic date for the residents of Vinnytsia. On this day three years ago, the aggressor state – Russia carried out another terrorist act – a massive missile strike on the peaceful city.

At that time, 35 residential buildings, 23 enterprises, 64 private vehicles, and 4 municipal transport wagons were damaged.

But the heaviest consequence of this attack was the loss of life. At that time, 29 people were killed, including three children. Another 154 people sustained injuries of varying degrees of severity.

Prosecutors, investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine, other law enforcement agencies, and expert services worked at the crime scene.

A significant volume of investigative and procedural actions was carried out to establish all the circumstances that need to be proven in the criminal proceedings initiated under part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of the laws and customs of war, combined with intentional murder.

Based on the collected evidence, a Russian admiral, the then commander of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy, was notified of suspicion for giving the order on July 14 to the commander of a small missile ship stationed near the city of Sevastopol to launch four "Kalibrs" at Vinnytsia.

He is charged with issuing an order to commit actions combined with intentional murder, committed by a group of persons in conspiracy (part 2 of Article 28, part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Prosecutors from the Office of the Prosecutor General and investigators from the Main Investigative Department of the Security Service of Ukraine continue to gather evidence to identify all individuals among the political and military leadership of Russia, as well as servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces involved in committing this horrific crime, with the aim of bringing them to criminal responsibility.

The Office of the Prosecutor General is cooperating with international institutions, in particular, with the International Criminal Court, to ensure that all war criminals involved in the killing of the civilian population of Ukraine are punished.
