Under the procedural guidance of the Transcarpathian Regional Prosecutor's Office, the organizer of a scheme to seize 2 hectares of land in the resort area of Dragobrat has been identified. Law enforcement officials have arrested the land plots to protect them from further resale schemes.

According to the investigation materials, a 46-year-old local resident developed a plan for the illegal acquisition of ownership rights to land plots in Dragobrat at the beginning of 2023. The suspect forged a state act and technical documentation for land management, the data for which was provided by an accomplice. 

Subsequently, the forged documents became the basis for registering the land in the state register under one of the suspects. Thus, they illegally seized plots with a total value of over 12.5 million UAH, which belonged to the territorial community of the town of Yasinya. Within the investigation, it has been confirmed that the Yasinya Village Council did not issue a decision on the allocation of land.  

The actions of the suspect are classified as fraud in especially large amounts by prior conspiracy of a group of persons, organization in the forgery of an official document and its use (part 3 of article 27 - part 4 of article 190, part 3 of article 27 - parts 3,4 of article 358).

The prosecutor's office will petition for a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative bail in an amount not less than the amount of the damages caused. 

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region with operational support from the Criminal Investigation Department of the police.
