The head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported suspicion against a deputy of one of the village councils in the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region for violating traffic safety rules while under the influence of alcohol, causing serious bodily harm to the victim (part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

On July 27, 2025, around 21:30, a local deputy, driving his own car in the city of Kaharlyk in the Obukhiv district of Kyiv region, while under the influence of alcohol, violated traffic rules and collided with a motorcycle driven by a 16-year-old boy, causing him serious bodily injuries.

According to the results of the examination, the suspect had a blood alcohol content of 2.702 per mille.

The head of the regional prosecutor's office participated in the court hearing regarding the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the deputy. By the court's ruling, the suspect was placed in custody for a period of 2 months with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 908,400 UAH.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is being conducted by investigators of the Obukhiv District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established.
