A suspect in the production and sale of psychotropic drugs was extradited from Germany to Ukraine

At the request of the prosecutors of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany extradited to Ukraine a man suspected of participating in a criminal organization and the illegal trafficking of psychotropic substances.

According to the investigation, he was one of the participants in a criminal organization that was involved in the production and sale of methamphetamine in Dnipro. The group's activities, which included 11 individuals, were stable in nature and involved a clear division of roles among its members.

In 2019, he was notified of suspicion of participating in a criminal organization, as well as the production, acquisition, transportation, and storage of psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale and the illegal acquisition and storage of equipment for their production (Part 1 of Article 255, Part 4 of Article 28, Parts 2 and 3 of Article 307, Part 4 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 313 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

After being notified of the suspicion, he hid from the investigative authorities and was placed on an international wanted list through Interpol. In June of this year, he was detained on the territory of Germany, and on October 20, he was handed over to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.

At the request of the prosecutor, the court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of detention.

The indictment in the criminal proceedings has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits.
