Suspicion was reported to the director of an enterprise in Kyiv region for the supply of poor-quality military uniforms worth UAH 1.7 million

The director of a company in Kyiv region has been notified of suspicion for supplying low-quality military uniforms worth 1.7 million UAH

The Bila Tserkva City Council signed a contract with a private enterprise for the production of uniform clothing for the volunteer formation of the territorial community. During the production process, fabric that did not meet established standards was used, and the sewing work was carried out with numerous violations of technology.

Despite this, the director of the enterprise delivered the goods as if they fully met the requirements and embezzled nearly 1.7 million UAH of budget funds transferred under the contract. 

After receiving the uniforms, the military filed complaints about the low quality of the products. 

The prosecutor's office has initiated a pre-trial investigation. The results of the conducted examinations confirmed that the supplied 830 sets do not meet the technical conditions of the contract. 

Prosecutors of the Bila Tserkva District Prosecutor's Office have notified the director of suspicion under Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - embezzlement of property by abuse of office, committed under martial law in particularly large amounts. The suspect faces up to 12 years of imprisonment. 

The investigation is being conducted by the Main Investigation Department of the National Police in Kyiv region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
