At the request of specialized environmental prosecutors, 174 hectares of forests were returned to the state

The Studenyky Village Council has formalized the right to 174 hectares of forest, which belongs to the state represented by the Kyiv Regional State Administration and is under the management of the State Enterprise "Forests of Ukraine".

The law stipulates that local self-government bodies do not have the authority to take such lands and re-register them in their name. Only specially authorized state bodies can manage the lands of the state forest fund.

The Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office has filed a lawsuit to return to the state particularly valuable lands designated for forestry purposes, which have strategic environmental protection and resource significance and are under enhanced protection from development and irrational use.

The court supported the prosecutor's position and reclaimed 174 hectares of forestry land from illegal possession.
