The former traffic police officer who was hiding from investigation is extraordinary to Ukraine
11.09.2025
Under the procedural guidance of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a former official of the State Automobile Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Cherkasy Oblast has been extradited from Germany. He is suspected of abuse of power and official forgery (Part 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to the investigation, in 2015, the senior state inspector used forged documents and a modified chassis number to illegally transfer ownership of a "Toyota Land Cruiser Prado" worth over 1 million UAH.
At the end of October 2018, he was notified of the suspicion, and in November, he was placed on the international wanted list. Last year, law enforcement established his location in Germany. Following the consideration of the request from the Office of the Prosecutor General, the competent authorities of Germany made the decision to extradite him.
The suspect has been returned to Ukraine, and at the prosecutor's request, a preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen.
This extradition is evidence that fleeing abroad does not save one from responsibility, and the law inexorably catches up with everyone who has committed a crime.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support are carried out by investigators of the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigation in Kyiv.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
