Under the public prosecution of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 52-year-old resident of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has been found guilty of committing treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

By the court's verdict on October 17, 2025, he was sentenced in absentia to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

After the onset of the full-scale invasion, the man joined the 810th Separate Guards Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and fought against Ukraine. In particular, he participated in combat operations in the Kherson direction.

In the summer of 2024, the command transferred the convicted individual's unit, where he was serving as a shooter at the time, to the Kursk region, where he was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region.
