Under the public prosecution of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 23-year-old young man has been found guilty of committing treason (part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

By the court's verdict on September 25, 2025, he was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The prosecutor proved in court that the native of Kherson region arrived in the city of Sumy, where, following the instructions of a Russian special services officer, he gathered intelligence data about the locations of military personnel involved in the Kursk operation, Sumy law enforcement agencies, as well as military equipment in the city.

The summarized information, along with markings in "Google Maps," was sent by the young man to his curator using one of the messengers.

It was established that FSB officers recruited the accused in August 2024 when he was looking for quick earnings on social networks.

He awaited the court's verdict behind bars.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted under the procedural guidance of the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region.
