The Uman District Prosecutor's Office has ensured the protection of a natural reserve object – the botanical reserve of local significance "Velykosevastyanivski Yary".

Prosecutors have established that a pond located within the reserve, covering an area of 2.5 hectares, has been leased for fish farming to a local resident. Currently, the pond has been effectively drained and is being used for agricultural production – growing soybeans and cabbage.

At the same time, according to the law, the special regime of protection, reproduction, and use of land in territories and objects of the natural reserve fund applies to all lands and land plots located within such territories and objects, regardless of ownership and intended use.

Considering the identified violations, in order to protect the interests of the state and the community, the prosecutor filed a lawsuit in court.

The court's decision granted the lawsuit of the Uman District Prosecutor's Office in the interests of the state represented by the Hrystynivka City Council and terminated the lease agreement for the pond, obliging the unscrupulous user to return this object.

After the court decision acquires legal force, its actual implementation and the restoration of the violated interests of the territorial community will be ensured.
