At the request of the prosecutor's office from Poland, a resident of Khmelnytskyi was suspected of destroying the farmer's property

The Office of the Prosecutor General, within the framework of international legal cooperation with the competent authorities of the Republic of Poland, ensured the extradition of a citizen of Ukraine who was wanted for criminal prosecution.
The extradited individual is suspected of committing theft and destroying property by arson (part 3 of Article 185, part 2 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The man was detained in Poland in February 2025.
On June 26, 2025, he was handed over to Ukrainian law enforcement at the international checkpoint "Ustyluh-Zosin".
According to the investigation, in August 2019, the suspect and his acquaintance broke into a farm, stole parts from agricultural machinery, and set fire to a room containing office equipment. The material damages to the farmer amounted to over a quarter of a million hryvnias.
After that, the suspect left the territory of Ukraine. Law enforcement in Khmelnytskyi region declared him wanted internationally.
The accomplice of the man has already been brought to criminal responsibility.
Currently, at the request of the prosecutors, the extradited individual has been taken into custody without the right to bail.
The procedural leadership is carried out by the Letichiv District Prosecutor's Office, and the pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Khmelnytskyi District Police Department of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
