According to the investigation, in June 2025, five individuals implemented a scheme for the sale of cannabis by placing stash spots and sending it by mail across Ukraine.
The illegal activity was carefully planned and involved a clear distribution of roles.
Thus, a 49-year-old resident of Kirovohrad region and his 25-year-old son, who lives in Kremenchuk, ordered wholesale batches of cannabis. Upon receiving the orders, they packaged and sent them by mail to Lviv for further sale.
In Lviv, the packages were received by two residents aged 23 and 29. They formed "stash spots" and placed them in the city and surrounding settlements. Orders were accepted via “Telegram” with payment to a bank card.
In addition, a 29-year-old nephew of one of the suspects in Kirovohrad region was engaged in growing cannabis plants.
For this purpose, he converted the basement of the house where he lived: the premises were equipped with electric lamps, a ventilation and air purification system, as well as water purification means.
In this way, he planted nearly 800 cannabis bushes.
Four members of the group were detained on October 16 under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and on October 17, they were informed of the suspicions against them.
During searches at the places of residence and illegal activities, more than 1,700 cannabis plants, about 9 kg of a substance resembling the narcotic "cannabis extract" in jars, over 6 kg of ready "stash spots" with cannabis, a container with mushrooms, specialized equipment for growing cannabis plants, cash in various currencies, and other evidence of illegal activity were discovered and seized.
The estimated value of the seized prohibited substances at "black market" prices exceeds 3 million UAH.
Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office, all group members were informed of suspicions regarding the illegal acquisition, storage, mailing, or sale of narcotic substances: two for part 2, 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the other two for part 2 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and one of the suspects for part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, in addition to which he was also charged with the sowing and growing of cannabis (part 2 of Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigative actions are ongoing, and all individuals involved in the illegal activity are being identified. A number of expert examinations have been appointed.
At the request of the prosecution, all suspects have been chosen preventive measures in the form of detention.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv region.
Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
