The court fully satisfied the claim of the Kryvyi Rih Central District Prosecutor's Office in the interests of the state for the recovery of damages from the enterprise "Kryvbassvodokanal" for harm caused to the environment. 

Prosecutors established that during 2022-2023, the water utility's pumping station operated in an emergency state - one of the pumps failed. As a result, the lands of the Saksahan district of the city and the Saksahan River were contaminated with wastewater. The total amount of environmental damage is nearly 700 thousand UAH.

In June 2024, the prosecutor's office filed a claim with the Economic Court of the region for the recovery of damages. However, the decision of the first instance court denied the prosecutors' claims. 

Considering the significant damage to the environment, the prosecutors appealed to the Central Appellate Economic Court with an appeal. 

The appellate court fully satisfied the prosecutor's claims.

Currently, the funds have been credited to a special environmental protection account, from which measures to reduce the impact of pollution on public health are financed.
