The court found the commander of one of the military units of the State Border Guard Service guilty of negligence in service under martial law (part 4 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Prosecutors in court proved that during the conclusion and execution of a contract for the supply of ballistic helmets totaling 36 million UAH, the commander exhibited official negligence, as a result of which the military unit received protective equipment of inadequate quality.

He was sentenced to 5 years of imprisonment with a probation period of 2 years.

A court proceeding is also ongoing regarding the director of the company that supplied the State Border Guard Service with substandard ballistic helmets.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the State Bureau of Investigations.
