Under the procedural guidance of the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office, a former head of the agricultural development department of the Volyn Regional State Administration has been notified of suspicion for ensuring the conclusion and signing of a contract with an agricultural enterprise for the purchase of wheat with state budget funds at inflated prices.

He is accused of abuse of office – part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As a result of the suspect's actions, 4000 tons of grain were purchased at a price that significantly exceeded the average market price in the region, causing the state losses amounting to over 4.8 million UAH.

Currently, the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Territorial Administration of the Bureau of Economic Security in the Volyn region.

Note: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
