Prosecutors of the Dnipro Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Defense Sector of the Eastern Region have sent an indictment to the court regarding the former head of the housing and utilities department of the city of Dnipro.

He is accused of negligent attitude towards military service, which led to serious consequences (part 3 of Article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). By improperly performing his duties, the accused failed to ensure effective control over defense lands. Such actions resulted in the unauthorized occupation of over 106 hectares of land by third parties, who planted agricultural crops on it.

As a result, the special fund of the state institution did not receive the legally prescribed revenues. According to the conclusions of the economic expertise, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine suffered losses amounting to over 8.2 million hryvnias.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support in the criminal proceedings were carried out by the Territorial Administration of the State Bureau of Investigations in the city of Poltava.
