Under public prosecution by the prosecutors of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court found a 43-year-old resident of the Luhansk region guilty of treason and aiding an aggressor state (Part 2 of Article 111, Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, the accused had previously served a sentence in the territory of the "LPR" for banditry. To avoid serving the full term, he went to Moscow. In September 2024, he signed a contract to serve in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. Subsequently, the traitor fought against the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the territories of Luhansk and Kharkiv regions.

In March 2025, he was captured.

The court sentenced the accused to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property, as well as deprivation of the right to hold positions in state authorities, local self-government, law enforcement agencies, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the same period.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Mykolaiv region.
