12.12.2025
Under the public prosecution of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court issued sentences to ten participants of illegal armed formations and the Russian Armed Forces involved in combat actions against Ukraine.
Nine natives of Donetsk, Luhansk, and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea were found guilty of treason and collaborationist activities (parts 1, 2 of Article 111, part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They were sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment.
A citizen of the Russian Federation was sentenced to 13 years in prison with confiscation of property for encroaching on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and participating in a terrorist organization (part 2 of Article 110, part 1 of Article 258-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
From 2014 to 2025, the men joined the "people's militia," "motorized rifle brigades of the DPR/LPR," and units of the Russian Armed Forces. They fought in positions as shooters, radio telephone operators, locksmiths, riggers, loaders, senior electricians, and polygon team operators. They stormed the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stood guard at checkpoints and control points, and engaged in logistical support for the formations. Two of them later took up positions as squad commanders.
A Russian in the ranks of the illegal armed formation "DPR" fought for 11 years. In 2020, he was sentenced in the "LPR" for intentional murder to 18 years in prison; however, four years later, he signed a contract and continued participating in combat actions against Ukraine.
The occupiers were detained by servicemen of the Armed Forces in 2024-2025 in the Bakhmut, Kramatorsk, and Pokrovsk districts.
The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
