Based on the public prosecution by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Sumy Regional Prosecutor's Office, the courts have issued guilty verdicts against two individuals who collaborated with the aggressor state and transmitted intelligence data about the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the frontline territories.

Thus, a resident of the city of Seredyna-Buda in the Shostka district has been sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property for treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It has been established that the man, carrying out the task of a representative of the Russian special services, transmitted the coordinates of the locations of Ukrainian military formations and information about their numbers in the border area of Sumy region via messenger. Law enforcement detained the offender in April 2023, and he has been in custody since then. 

In addition, in May 2025, law enforcement uncovered a resident of Kramatorsk, who for two years collected and transmitted military-related intelligence to representatives of the Russian Federation. The investigation has proven that she walked around the city, communicated with local residents, and recorded information about the locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine units, military equipment and ammunition, civilian infrastructure objects, routes of equipment movement, the movement of trains with military cargo, the consequences of enemy shelling, as well as other information that could be used to the detriment of the state's defense capability. The agent transmitted the information in the form of text messages and screenshots of electronic maps with coordinates. 

She was found guilty of treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Sumy region and the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
