A man was detained who was transmitting data about the defense forces and critical infrastructure facilities in the Kharkiv region

Prosecutors in Kharkiv have reported suspicions against a man who was gathering information about the locations of personnel and military equipment of the Defense Forces in the city and surrounding villages. He is charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — treason committed under martial law. By court decision, he is in custody.

It has been established that a resident of Kharkiv was recruited in Moscow by Russian special services, after which he returned to the city to carry out the enemy's tasks. Representatives of the special services promised the young man further "evacuation" to the Russian Federation and assistance in enrolling in a higher education institution.

During October to November 2025, he collected and transmitted coordinates of the locations of personnel and military equipment of the Defense Forces in Kharkiv and surrounding villages, as well as information about the operation of critical infrastructure facilities. It is likely that this intelligence could have been used to carry out strikes on the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recall that in January 2025, law enforcement officers in Kharkiv uncovered his mother, who is suspected of organizing a terrorist act against a veteran of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Part 2 of Article 258, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). On behalf of the Russian Federation, she attempted to blow him up using a homemade explosive device.

The pre-trial investigation and operational support are being conducted by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Kharkiv region.

Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
