In August 2025, a resident of Dnipro, an employee of one of the machine-building enterprises, received a task via the messenger "Telegram" from Russian special services to organize a terrorist act in the city.

According to the curator's instructions, the suspect retrieved a bag with components for making improvised explosives from a hideout and was to plant it in one of the city's districts.

Law enforcement officers timely neutralized the device and detained the perpetrator. He was informed of the suspicion of preparing for a terrorist act (part 1 of article 14, part 2 of article 258 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and a preventive measure was chosen — detention without the right to bail.

Pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Note: according to article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a guilty verdict of the court.
